I found photos of the presentations likely taken during
the 1971 Annual meeting, which was likely held in the
Holiday Inn in Kitchener as this was the regular venue
during those days. There are names and faces that will be
familiar to some of us; Howard Palmer, Aylmer-Malihide
(now Amtelecom), Harold Schmidt (likely while he was still
the secretary-treasurer of the Baden company which would
likely now be part of Kitchener), Francis Gimel who worked
for the OTSC in an engineering capacity but lived in
Ripley, I believe Russ Brown who was the manager for
Community Telephone which was sold to Bell by the late
1970s, as well my father who is thanking one of the
speakers. Note everyone is smoking during the meeting. I
believe this was taken from a Canadian publication which
lasted a few years called Telecommunications Engineering
and Management. |
